Great Wolf Lodge Tour - Scottsdale, Az - Indoor Waterpark - Family Vacation

Our Family Vacation at the Great Wolf Lodge in Scottsdale Arizona

Video of our Vacation at the end of the post!

Just wanted to share tips and tricks for those of you who want to try out this incredible place.

Our family just loved the Great Wolf Lodge. It was like going to a luxury Summer Camp in the middle of Winter! The day we went it was raining outside. We went in February and the weather was wet and cold.

We decided to go on this vacation pretty spur of the moment. My Husbands Mother passed away from cancer and my Husband, Louis was ready for a break from the sadness of his mothers passing and stress of work so he started looking at ideas that were close by that we could take our whole family in February and have a good time.

Check- in is at 4pm but you can call ahead and try and get early check-in. If you can't get early checkin to your room you can still go to the waterpark starting at 11am. We arrived in Scottsdale around 11:30am then we went and ate at Oreganos and then we checked into the lodge around 1pm. We called and asked for early check in and lucky for us the room was ready when we got there.
Check-Out time is 11am but you can still go to the waterpark til closing time. You just can't access your room after 11am.

When you check in they give the kids wolf ear headbands which was fun! You also are given wristbands for the whole family. The adults have wristbands that get you into the waterpark that also act as a key to the room. The kids have wristbands which acts as a ticket to the waterpark. I suggest if you are staying for more than one day that you make the wristband loose enough to slip off the kids wrist. My kids begged to take them off when we weren't at the water park. Thankfully I didn't put them on too tight and I was able to slip them on and off.

Room:
We got the Kid Cabin Suite
It had a queen size bed (most comfortable bed ever)
Couch Sleeper (also so comfy)
Twin Bed
Twin Bunk bed

The room had a fridge, coffee maker, and hair dryer
It did not have a microwave but they did have one down the hall that you can use.

Loved that the room had 2 T.V.'s One by the queen bed and one in the kids area.

The T.V.'s had the option to watch netflicks (if you have a subscription to that)

Wish it had a toaster and Microwave in the room

Inside the Water Park

You can't bring in food. They do have a restaurant inside the waterpark and tables that you can eat at if you want to eat there.

You can bring in bags with your clothes and belongings.

You can rent a locker- we didn't and our stuff was fine but if your worried about your stuff there are lockers available

They have life vests there for free that you can use for the kids.

They have towels inside the waterpark, so you don't have to bring any. You have to checkout the towels using your wristband. If you don't bring your towels back you will get charged for them. You can switch them out when they get too wet also, which is so nice.

They have bathrooms, changing rooms, and showers inside the waterpark. They even have a dryer for your bathing suit, which is super nice. They have a family restroom also.

They have lockers you can rent in the water park

They have 2 family slides. You get to climb a lot of stairs but you don't have to carry the big tube for these. They have a escalator that brings the tube up for you, so awesome! The tube is really big and can fit 2-5 people in it. You have to have at least 2 people. On one of the slides there is no age limit so your whole family can go. Our 2 year old went with us, and she loved it! The other slide my 5 year old was able to go on.

They have a body slide where you drop straight down for all the thrill seekers!

They have 2 slides that you can carry your single or double tubes up the stairs. My 5 year old year old was able to go on those.

They have some baby slides for the kids. They have two slides that you and your kid can race on. My 2 year old loved to race me on the slides. They are fun for all ages.

They have a little kid area that also has slides. My 2 year old loved this area. She didn't have to wear a life vest cause she could touch the ground in the  whole pool area. I loved this cause I didn't have to worry about her. They also have a lifeguard there watching.

They have a wave pool which my husband and kids loved so much.

They have a lazy river with single and double tubes.

They have a spa outside that can fit 28 people and the jets work soooo good.

They have an outside pool also, it was closed while we were there.

They have a place where you can play some water basketball and cross the lily pads using a cargo net.

Spring is Almost Here/ Gardening Prep!

I'm so excited that spring is coming soon! My husband is starting to prep the garden. He started some Chile and tomato seeds inside. With the planting season coming upon us I have been looking for some awesome tools to help make gardening a little easier. I asked U Better Shop It if I could promote some of their products from there website. I was excited that they said yes. They have a good variety of products on their website but since it's gardening season right now these caught my eye. My favorite is the Irrigation tool spikes. I have never seen these before. We have tried burying 2 liter bottles in to the ground to water our tomato plants but it didn't work out so well for us. I love this idea. It is so easy to use and saves so much water. Saving water is a big deal here in southern Arizona!

I also found this super handy Garden Gloves with claws they are Hypoallergenic nitrite coating on the palms and breathable nylon on the back of the globes to reduce sweating.  They are easy to clean and machine washable! I just love that they have claws. I don't even need to find my gardening shovel for the little things like making a hole for a seed or even just getting rid of some stubborn weeds. In Arizona we have a ton of Weeds! I feel like weeds grow better than anything else around here.

Last but not least I found these Wall hanging planting bags! Aren't they so cool. The bags are water saving and drought resistant and self-absorbing. These are perfect for those who live in a small space like and apartment or even if you live in a home and don't have much land. These can be used for indoor or out door. They are non-toxic biodegradable, and anti-corrosion. You can buy anywhere from 2 pockets to 72 pockets. I would be most likely to use it on herbs and flowers.

Family Valentine's Day Celebration

My husband and I started a family Valentines Day Tradition back in 2012. We buy Pizza and come home and eat it at the table. We decorate the table and have root-beer and chocolate. Our first year we used china but the more kids we had we made it even more simple and now we use paper plates. No one wants to do the dishes on Valentines Day, well at least I sure don't!

It all started because of the super bowl. Papa Johns had a deal where if you guessed the coin toss you got a free pizza. I ended up getting a free pizza 2 years in a row, and it was redeemable during Valentines Day. We were so poor because my husband was going to school at the U of A and I was a stay at home Mom. Money was tight and we didn't go out to eat very often, so this was a treat for us. We also found that when we did try going out to eat on Valentine's Day everything was so crowded. It is a tradition that our whole family enjoys each year.

I didn't have a picture for every year that I could find. I'm sure they are hidden somewhere!

This year we are going BIG I will tell you all about it when we get back!

Here is a picture of our 1st year in 2012

Last year we went to a church Valentine's Day Dance, it was a lot of fun! The kids really didn't want to take a picture though!

What are some of your favorite Valentine's Day Traditions? I'd love to hear about them.

Kindness Begins with Me/ Madilyn Paige / Song Come Unto Jesus

My Mother-In-Law just passed away from brain cancer but before she passed away she gave all her kids/grandkids this book for Christmas. She loved books. She was a teachers aide for the primary school and helped many kids who were struggling with reading.

"If you Plant a Seed" by Kadir Nelson, it is such a good book.  You have to read it with your family.  My Mother-In-Law was so kind and loving. She wasn't judgmental at all, she loved everyone and made anyone she saw feel loved. She wanted so badly to make sure that her Kids and Grandkids were loving and kind to all. Her last message to them was to be kind.

So I have been thinking a lot about not judging others and just being kind. The hardest thing to do is to be kind to someone who is not kind to you. I just saw a video on YouTube and it touched my heart to the core. It was so inspiring, You just never know what is going to happen and what others are going through. Life if tough and everyone is having their own trials. When we can love everyone and not judge them we are becoming like Jesus and that is my ultimate goal to become more and more like him every day. I love this song, "Come Unto Jesus" by Madilyn Paige

Snoring Remedy | How to Stop Snoring to Get Better Sleep

Do your kids snore? My kids snore so loud! All 4 of my kids snore, my 2 middle kids are the worst. I think they get it from my dad. He snores sooo bad, I don't know how my mom gets any sleep. They also grind their teeth. It's so bad, all 4 of them! They got those genes from me unfortunately. Do your kids snore or grind their teeth? Do you have any good tricks for me. All the dentists I've ever talked to say they will out grow it. They say you could try a mouth piece but the kids don't like it and spit it out during the night, so it doesn't do any good.

This is not for kids but if you have a loved one that snores, this might be the solution!

VitalSleep is a new FDA cleared Anti Snoring Mouthpiece. Hundreds of thousands of snorers have been helped with VitalSleep and we now offer 2 sizes to choose from - regular size for men and small size for women. We proudly manufacture in the USA. Mouthpieces for snoring that are not cleared by the FDA are illegal to be sold in the USA.

As explained earlier, a blocked airway causes one to snore. The VitalSleep anti-snoring mouthpiece diminishes snoring by holding the lower jaw forward to keep your airway clear and allow air to pass freely to and from your lungs. By having a clearer airway, you'll experience improved airflow, quiet breathing, and more restful sleep—for both you and your partner.

VitalSleep’s features and benefits

• Guaranteed restful sleep for you and your partner: Relieves snoring for deep, rejuvenating sleep for you and your partner

• A proven solution: VitalSleep has helped hundreds of thousands of users stop their snoring and return harmony to the bedroom

• Proudly made in the USA: We proudly manufacture VitalSleep in the U.S.A. to ensure our quality standards are met and to support the American economy.

Weekly Workout

My Workouts for the Week:

Monday - This workout was so hard for me. I haven't done just an ab core workout in a long time! I was sore for a long time, but it felt so good.

Wednesday:
I jumped on the Trampoline for 20 minutes with my 2 year old. Man was it a workout!

Thursday: I was so sore with this workout because the day after I did this workout I had to travel for 4 hours in the car and I wasn't able to workout the rest of the weekend. We went to my mother-in-laws funeral and we were so busy.

I really like Pamela Reifs workouts. There is no talking just music. Sometimes I do not like when people talk all throughout the workout, and somedays I don't mind it. I guess it just depends on my mood.
