Our Family Vacation at the Great Wolf Lodge in Scottsdale Arizona
Video of our Vacation at the end of the post!
Just wanted to share tips and tricks for those of you who want to try out this incredible place.
Our family just loved the Great Wolf Lodge. It was like going to a luxury Summer Camp in the middle of Winter! The day we went it was raining outside. We went in February and the weather was wet and cold.
We decided to go on this vacation pretty spur of the moment. My Husbands Mother passed away from cancer and my Husband, Louis was ready for a break from the sadness of his mothers passing and stress of work so he started looking at ideas that were close by that we could take our whole family in February and have a good time.
Check- in is at 4pm but you can call ahead and try and get early check-in. If you can't get early checkin to your room you can still go to the waterpark starting at 11am. We arrived in Scottsdale around 11:30am then we went and ate at Oreganos and then we checked into the lodge around 1pm. We called and asked for early check in and lucky for us the room was ready when we got there.
Check-Out time is 11am but you can still go to the waterpark til closing time. You just can't access your room after 11am.
When you check in they give the kids wolf ear headbands which was fun! You also are given wristbands for the whole family. The adults have wristbands that get you into the waterpark that also act as a key to the room. The kids have wristbands which acts as a ticket to the waterpark. I suggest if you are staying for more than one day that you make the wristband loose enough to slip off the kids wrist. My kids begged to take them off when we weren't at the water park. Thankfully I didn't put them on too tight and I was able to slip them on and off.
Room:
We got the Kid Cabin Suite
It had a queen size bed (most comfortable bed ever)
Couch Sleeper (also so comfy)
Twin Bed
Twin Bunk bed
The room had a fridge, coffee maker, and hair dryer
It did not have a microwave but they did have one down the hall that you can use.
Loved that the room had 2 T.V.'s One by the queen bed and one in the kids area.
The T.V.'s had the option to watch netflicks (if you have a subscription to that)
Wish it had a toaster and Microwave in the room
Inside the Water Park
You can't bring in food. They do have a restaurant inside the waterpark and tables that you can eat at if you want to eat there.
You can bring in bags with your clothes and belongings.
You can rent a locker- we didn't and our stuff was fine but if your worried about your stuff there are lockers available
They have life vests there for free that you can use for the kids.
They have towels inside the waterpark, so you don't have to bring any. You have to checkout the towels using your wristband. If you don't bring your towels back you will get charged for them. You can switch them out when they get too wet also, which is so nice.
They have bathrooms, changing rooms, and showers inside the waterpark. They even have a dryer for your bathing suit, which is super nice. They have a family restroom also.
They have lockers you can rent in the water park
They have 2 family slides. You get to climb a lot of stairs but you don't have to carry the big tube for these. They have a escalator that brings the tube up for you, so awesome! The tube is really big and can fit 2-5 people in it. You have to have at least 2 people. On one of the slides there is no age limit so your whole family can go. Our 2 year old went with us, and she loved it! The other slide my 5 year old was able to go on.
They have a body slide where you drop straight down for all the thrill seekers!
They have 2 slides that you can carry your single or double tubes up the stairs. My 5 year old year old was able to go on those.
They have some baby slides for the kids. They have two slides that you and your kid can race on. My 2 year old loved to race me on the slides. They are fun for all ages.
They have a little kid area that also has slides. My 2 year old loved this area. She didn't have to wear a life vest cause she could touch the ground in the whole pool area. I loved this cause I didn't have to worry about her. They also have a lifeguard there watching.
They have a wave pool which my husband and kids loved so much.
They have a lazy river with single and double tubes.
They have a spa outside that can fit 28 people and the jets work soooo good.
They have an outside pool also, it was closed while we were there.
They have a place where you can play some water basketball and cross the lily pads using a cargo net.
